On his second album Through The Illusion, Franz journey’s past self-reflection and separation and toward compassion and connection. Inspired by philosophical concepts found both in Buddhism and quotes from Einstein, the songs on Through The Illusion explore multiple ways to expand one’s compassion and connection with oneself and the world. Separation is an illusion. Connectedness is reality. And compassion is the glue that can bring both inner peace and outer harmony simultaneously.
The music flows freely thanks to the stellar musicianship of Jesse Seibenberg (guitars), Dave Palmer (keys), Will Robertson (bass), and Fernando Jaramillo (drums). Longer song forms and extended jams are purposeful here to further express the song concepts and emotions. Prisca (featured and backing vocals) lends her immense talent and passion to every track and adds a balance of female energy to Franz’s male lead vocal. Jason Mariani at Carbonite Sound raised his own bar in engineering, mixing and mastering this album.
