June 5, 2020 marks the release of this long-awaited album. This is a deeply personal record, but written about issues that go way beyond one person. Some songs are about real relationship dynamics, written in real-time, captured fresh while the feelings were raw. Other songs address political and societal issues while encouraging solidarity against injustice. Regardless of topic, soul leads the way from the first, potent riff of “Still Keep Coming Back” to the last, undaunted vocalization of “I Don’t Know Your Pain”.
